After visiting Haleakala Nat. Park, we headed for the Maui Plantation where we had lunch and some time to explore the gardens, etc.
Wild and crazy!
The Iao Needle - site of the famous battle that changed Hawaiian history, where King Kamehameha I trapped and destroyed the defending Maui king.
The Three Musketeers.
After a long day, we headed for our hotel, the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel. The Ka'anapali Beach is considered one of the best in the islands, and usually makes the list for one of the best family beaches in the world. I will post pictures of the hotel in the next post. There were 7-10 hotels right along the beach with a sidewalk that stretched the whole length of the beach and hotel frontage. It was a very nice place to say the least! Below and above is our first Maui sunset. Notice the waves coming in, there were flags up everywhere warning you not to go in because of the riptide. Of course, there were a few dummies that were out there. You could stand on the inner sidewalks at the hotel and could not see the beach, but could hear them crashing on the sand.
